About This Station
The station is currently (since 2020) powered by a Davis Instruments Vantage Pro2 (replacing a 13 year old Oregon Scientific WMR968) weather station. The data is collected continuosly, using a mini PC, running Ubuntu, and Weewx. The site is updated every 5 minutes. This site and its data is collected using the weewx-saratoga extension which emulates the Weather Display Live Software. The station is comprised of an anemometer, a rain gauge and a thermo-hydro sensor situated in optimal positions for highest accuracy possible.
About Our Lake Shastina Community
Lake Shastina has been in development for over 40 years. It started as a second home recreation area in 1968, and has evolved into a community of retirees and families. Lake Shastina has been ranked as one of the top 100 places to retire in America. The development offers paved roads with underground power, sewer, and water services along with our own Department of Public Safety (Fire and Police services). Administrative services are provided by Lake Shastina Community Services District.
For more information, visit Lake Shastina, where you can find out about our area, the lake, and golf course.
Be sure to check out the other areas around us, such as Weed, Mount Shasta, and Yreka.
